Thank You!
To all who attended the 9th Tri-State Development Summit on October 5, 2011, thank you!
We’ve come a long way in 15 years. 35 separate counties in 3 separate states have become one “State of Mind”. And this at a time when coming together doesn’t seem to be an easy thing.
Together we are making our workforce stronger and doing what we can to create jobs at a time when jobs aren’t easy to create. Together we are developing infrastructure. Whether the mode is broadband, highways or locks and dams – we are united in laying the groundwork to move our ideas, goods and services in and out of our region.
Let us remind you of the mission of the Tri-State Development Summit: To bring together Tri-State area leaders to define common issues; To develop an on-going dialogue to effectively address those issues; And to improve the quality of life of the entire tri-state region through economic development activities.
Coming together yields great power. It builds highways, creates jobs, fosters awareness and leads to sustained growth. We continue to experience it firsthand in the 35 counties that make up the Tri-State Development Summit.
Margaret Mead said it best, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
- The Tri-State Development Summit Steering Committee
As Tom Boland, Member of the Summit Steering Committee said in his 2011 closing challenge:
“OK folks – Thanks for taking part in today’s Summit. Lots to digest – Lots to think about.
Please do not sit back now and not do anything. Leadership is really needed now. Make the most of today’s information. You people here today are our leaders.
So thanks again and LEAD!”
